Rocker B Ranch continues to build upon its solid foundation and support from Unrivaled Sports, and an upcoming expansion is another step in the luxury resort reaching its full potential.

The expansion, which is set to launch in the March-April timeframe, will make 84 new lodge-style rooms available, alongside a new steak restaurant, The Bullpen Chophouse, which aims to provide a fine dining option to resort guests and local residents alike.

Previous issues of PK Magazine have highlighted the growth and history of Rocker B, from its purchase by the Byrd family in 2005 to its sale to Unrivaled Sports that was announced in January 2025. From its beginnings as a family retreat to what is now a premier youth sports venue, this destination continues to have a positive impact on the PK community and Palo Pinto County.

Bart Byrd manages the property, including its tournaments and construction projects, with more than 180 employees mostly from the Graford community. He is very proud of his staff and the skills they bring from their Graford school district’s curriculum. A key ingredient to Rocker B’s success is its focus on family and community, and the further development of its team.

“We try to give back to our community by hiring local youth as well as local contractors for our construction,” Byrd said. “Operating as a community and family-based company continues to be our goal.”

A key element to this year’s expansion includes The Bullpen Chophouse now open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights during the 32-week baseball season, as well as on Wednesday and Sunday nights.

The days and times for dinner service are:

  • Wednesdays, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Fridays, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Saturdays, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Sundays, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Byrd added that the restaurant’s menu and hours will evolve after the initial grand opening to include a Saturday and Sunday brunch to be served from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Initial menu offerings include several steak options as well as Surf & Turf. Other entrees include the Bullpen burger, marinated chicken, and a double cut pork chop. Specialty sides such as hand-cut French fries, crispy brussels, and both classic and loaded mashed potatoes provide a flavorful addition to the meal. Desserts include chocolate lava cake, New York cheesecake, and a Heath bar sundae. Seasonal fried hand-pies aim to satisfy any remaining sweet tooth cravings.

Byrd and his team have covered all the bases with The Bullpen’s restaurant design, with an outdoor waterfall and a kitchen that’s designed to support a future arcade-style expansion. The restaurant’s interior space includes a bar area supporting live field broadcasts from Rocker B’s baseball games, as well as Monday night football for local residents to gather and watch. Corporate event attendees will be able to use this area to display their presentations while relaxing at tables or in comfortable seating around the windows. A separate room is available for private parties, receptions and conferences.

The restaurant’s chef, Thomas Yuengling, comes highly recommended from Oak & Third’s executive chef Stefan Rishel. Yuengling will manage a kitchen with an ergonomic design focused on safety and productivity.

Lodging expansion also is included in the resort’s upcoming changes. Rocker B is putting the finishing touches on 84 horseshoe lodge-style, double-queen-bed rooms. Each room will have two custom-made queen beds, a private bathroom and vanity, a large television equipped with DirecTV, a writing desk, a mini fridge and a shared outdoor porch seating area. Each seating area will be outfitted with custom outdoor furniture and string lights to add to the ambiance.

Rocker B’s number of baseball fields also has expanded from the three fields described in the spring 2021 edition of PK Magazine. There are now seven baseball fields, with the addition of the Nolan Ryan Field expected to be dedicated sometime later this year.

Rocker B deserves congratulations as it continues to serve young athletes and the surrounding community with its new chapter about to begin with the 2026 season.
