BB’s Kayaks/PK Fitness

Up until now, the closest options for PK residents who wanted to go to the gym were to travel to either Graham or Mineral Wells.
With the opening of PK Fitness, that’s not the case anymore.
The gym is owned by Brittany Cather and is located at 1080 FM 2353 Unit 328. It’s open seven days a week, 24 hours a day, offering yoga classes, mobility classes and personal training.
Cather said she’s already planning to add more amenities in the months to come.
“I really wanted to provide a safe space for people to come in and take care of themselves,” Cather said.
She noted that while many come to the lake to have fun, their need to focus on health doesn’t go away once they arrive.
The gym offers a variety of memberships for individuals, partners and family members, Cather said, in addition to personal training and temporary passes. She also noted that there are no contracts, and memberships can be canceled at any time.
Cather moved to Possum Kingdom three years ago, and her first business venture was buying BB’s Kayaks. She said she’s always loved being on the water, and when the business became available, she said it was a no-brainer for her to buy it. BB’s Kayaks rents kayaks, paddleboards, floating foam pads and other inflatables.
Along with her kayaking business, PK Fitness now also features a paddleboard yoga class taught by Chelsey Leathers at Golden Cove, Cather said, and gym members can participate for free.
“I’ve always liked working for myself, and I’ve always had multiple jobs,” she said.
Cather said it was by chance one day that she met Angel Long, a lifelong lake resident who owned a gym at the lake but was battling cancer. Long had to close her gym to focus on her treatment, and she passed away not long after that.
Cather said that when she decided to open her own gym at the lake, she already had quite a bit of equipment, having been a personal trainer since 2016, but she found out that much of Long’s equipment was available for purchase. She proudly shares that much of the equipment in her gym was owned by Long, and said she feels this is a special way of honoring Long’s memory.
Cather said she is excited about growing her gym business and working with people to meet their fitness goals.
“I just want to help you move better, because I know it will help you feel better,” she said.

Naylor By the Water

Naylor By the Water is a PK business that has been around since 2005, and it has one of the most iconic names of a business on the lake, but its new owners have some new offerings they’d like to mention.
Jay Naylor originally owned the business, but in 2022 he sold it to PK natives Russell and Nikki Littlepage. Both grew up in the area, which made buying the business a natural fit for the couple.
The Littlepages said their PK roots run deep, and their lifelong love for the lake community made the purchase an opportunity they couldn’t pass up. They said they’re proud to continue Naylor’s legacy while adding their own vision and new experiences for both locals and visitors to enjoy.
Naylor on the Water is a one-stop shop, offering boat and jet ski rentals in addition to helping anyone who wants to enjoy the lake. The store has lake apparel, souvenirs, gifts, snacks, drinks, ice and other lake essentials for sale, as well as the Naylor Nutrition Bar where guests can enjoy protein shakes, loaded teas and refreshing drinks before and after a day on the lake.
The bar was opened to give customers a healthy, energizing option, the couple said, noting that it’s “perfect for starting your day, recharging after time on the water, or grabbing something on the go.”
Naylor By the Water is located at 461 FM 2353 between the Pizza Shack and Boondocks.
